Home windows 10 has seemingly hit additional issues with its hottest cumulative updates for August, with some consumers reporting that they are encountering some serious difficulties around crashes and Blue Screens of Death (BSODs), or even equipment being set into blue screen loops.

Specifically, this is occurring to those people who have installed the cumulative updates KB4566782 and KB4565351 which are for the May perhaps 2020 Update and November 2019 Update respectively.

Formerly, some consumers ended up owning difficulty putting in these patches – and being perplexed by mysterious error messages – but some of those people who have productively installed the updates have seemingly encountered substantially even worse fates.

As Home windows Most current highlights, there are studies on the net detailing all types of issues, which includes a lot of difficulties highlighted in this Reddit thread.

A single consumer noted: “My XPS 9300 fell into a bluescreen loop on this update [KB4565351].”

Yet another consumer clarifies: “I’ve upgraded to Home windows 10 model 2004 [May perhaps 2020 Update] – KB4566782 (OS Build 19041.450), having BSOD if Intel Virtualization Know-how is enabled. Disabled it in a position to boot into Home windows.” This consumer also notes that the update broke their seem, and that they are running a Lenovo ThinkPad Computer system, and it may well be a challenge with these equipment.

In truth, it appears that some ThinkPad equipment are struggling in some way with these updates, since a number of other consumers on that Reddit thread described issues with BSODs, seemingly similar to virtualization capabilities (Hyper-V, Intel Virtualization or Home windows Sandbox).

So if you are encountering comparable difficulties, as the consumer over described, it may well be really worth turning off virtualization capabilities to see if that can make any variance. In any other case, the only other alternative is to revert your Computer system to in advance of the update was installed.

Out in the cold

With these cumulative updates, there also appear to be to be difficulties around audio as outlined, as perfectly as normal method slowdown, or intermittent freezing – as a different Reddit denizen describes: “Also, the computer freezes a lot, sometimes for 5/10 seconds at any time due to the fact the past update.”

There are studies from disgruntled Computer system owners on Microsoft’s have forum as perfectly, with a single of those people observing: “I installed KB4566782 a several days back. My method is Home windows 10 2004, sixty four little bit, installed on Thinkpad T470. As a consequence, I experienced from sluggish Wi-Fi browsing and Pretty Gradual (virtually zero) downloading velocity.

“After I experimented with each individual alternative (update motorists, and many others.) and checked that other units in my residence perform wonderful, nowadays I uninstalled KB4566782. The alternative labored and now all the things is wonderful once more. I acquired my lesson: constantly improved to pause updates for as lengthy as achievable…”

And with Microsoft’s current track report for Home windows 10 updates, we wouldn’t be surprised if a number of folks are studying that similar lesson. Particularly specified additional studies on that thread, which includes this a single: “The update resulted in a blue screen of death at the time but was in a position to productively reboot following reversing the updates – but does Microsoft learn? No. It tries to put in the similar update once more and this time succeeds in bricking the machine.”
